Summary: Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) worked together to develop opportunities to share resources that would create mutual benefits. Facility Management data from both agencies was collected and mapped using GIS to show potential facilities that could be shared between the two agencies, resulting in cost savings, increased productivity, and enhanced communication and cooperation between the two agencies. From data shared between the two agencies, agency officials made a strategic work plan for inter-agency collaboration that resulted in project savings of over $20 million.
